Our Story
Eight tables, fresh bread, and a bowl of chowder
Nye Beach Cafe is a small, colorful breakfast-and-lunch room in the historic Nye Beach district of Newport, Oregon. Guests come for homemade bread baked daily, a gluten-free clam chowder, and a patio that catches the coastal light.
The cafe sits at 526 NW Coast Street, Apt B — a short walk from the shops and sand. Inside there are only about eight tables plus a counter with a view of the bakers and the line. Outside, a sunlit patio takes the overflow when the wait builds.
The kitchen bakes its own sourdough, biscuits, gluten-free loaves and corn tortillas. Meats are nitrate- and hormone-free. Vegan and vegetarian plates use local produce. The clam chowder is gluten-free — thick, well seasoned, and packed with tender clams — and it is the dish people drive back for.
