The house coffee punch — citrus, ginger and espresso. Guests also mention a grapefruit + thyme milk punch.

An intimate 30-square-metre espresso bar on High Street — Japanese cocktail-bar craft, rotating single origins, and seasonal infusions made in-house. Dopamine. Oxytocin. Serotonin. Endorphin.

D.O.S.E stands for dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphin — the four feel-good hormones. The room at 5 High Street is a dark, 30-square-metre espresso bar inspired by Japanese cocktail bars, owned by Reinaldo Tanudjaja and Connie Chung.
Reinaldo came from Auckland’s bar scene after training as a barista; Connie grew up in Tahiti around her parents’ restaurant, then worked in finance before returning to hospitality. Together they treat coffee like craft cocktails — house syrups, seasonal produce, cocktail tools, and a rotating single-origin board.
The all-black interior is tiny: a long charcoal counter, wall-mounted tables, La Marzocco espresso, and a resident corgi named Bobo who often appears on Saturdays. Guests come for filter and espresso, then stay for the signatures — Biscoff oat brew, dates-spiced honey nitro, grapefruit coffee punches, pandan and matcha lattes, and a mini canelé with the cup.

— Chantelle Jahara Pinto, Google“There are lots of great coffee shops in this part of town but this is my favourite. Perfect coffee, friendly owners and a really relaxing, carefully designed setting to sit for a while.”
— Emma Smith, Google“By far my favourite specialty coffee shop. If you're looking for more than just a standard milk coffee or espresso, this is the spot. I recommend the seasonal cold brew. I frequently pop in for filter coffee and will plan my day around this visit.”
— Katherine Sivoravong, Google“I ordered their signature grapefruit + thyme coffee milk punch for 12 NZD. They added a small bite of canelé. Perfect, refreshing. Afterwards the iced pandan latte — balanced and not too sweet.”
— Sodium, Google“The all-black aesthetic is so unique and sophisticated — every corner feels like a work of art. From the dark walls to the black coffee cups, the attention to detail is incredible.”
— Isabelle Qin, Google“D.O.S.E is a place I keep going back to. If you are into cold brew and want something with extra flavour, this is the place. They change the cold brew menu with the season.”
